Janine M. H. Selendy, Chairman and President
The Solutions Site was conceived and produced by Janine Selendy.

Janine Selendy is Founder, Chairman and President of HORIZON InternationalHorizon is a non-profit organization based at Yale University that develops and advances solutions, especially in the areas of health, the environment, and poverty alleviation with the help of its Scientific Review Board, hundreds of cooperating organizations, Associates, television programs, conferences and lectures, and solutions sites on the Web. Horizon's home page is at: http://www.yale.edu/horizon.

The Solutions Sites are a collaborative effort of Horizon with the UNDP, UNEP, UNFPA, Unicef, the International Development Research Centre, Yale University and Horizon's colleagues at Harvard University. They present readily accessible peer-reviewed case studies, articles, exhibits, and resources including over 900 screened links with descriptions. The Kids feature of the Solutions Site is an engaging, interactive, multimedia feature. The URLs are:  http://www.solutions-site.org and http://www.solutions-site.org/kids.

Horizon covers the environment, preserving wildlife and endangered plants, reducing pollutants, reducing global climate change and acid rain, practicing sustainable, non-toxic agriculture; health, finding ways to reduce malnutrition, TB, malaria, dengue, and sexually transmissible infections such as HIV/AIDS, and unwanted pregnancy; and, development, finding means to meet economic needs with least harm to our planet and advancing technological innovations for the betterment of the planet. Horizon chooses ideas and initiatives that both inform and inspire positive action.

Horizon invites you to submit case studies and articles for consideration, to provide links to the Horizon Solutions Site, to assist with dissemination of information from and about the Site, and to become a Horizon Associate (intern, volunteer, or research fellow). All submissions are screened and not all submissions are accepted for posting. Horizon provides templates for submission of case studies.

Horizon International has launched the Preview of a multimedia, multifaceted project on coral reefs for youth entitled Magic Porthole™.  The Magic Porthole project has thus far been made possible by a Planning Grant from the National Science Foundation, financial support from Peter and Helen Haje and substantial contributions of talent and in-kind support.
