World Vision International (WVI) restoration and protection project in the Louga region
In 1985, World Vision International (WVI), a non-governmental organization, implemented a restoration and protection project in the Louga region to improve living conditions through sustainable provision of water supplies, access to education, establishment of a credit system, and increased agricultural production through sound land-use and soil conservation strategies. This approach integrated many levels of the villagers’ livelihoods, providing a stronger basis for sustainability.
