Raúl Farfán Amat y León

Mr. Raúl Farfán is at present cooperating with national non-governmental organizations and universities in areas such as environmental protection, capacity building and sustainable development. He is also involved in a project with the International Institute for Development at Harvard University, which analyses the relationship of financial performance and environmental protection of companies in developing countries.

In 1999, Mr. Farfán prepared an strategic document (as part of his M.Sc. research) for the Peruvian Government: How to improve EIA implementation practices in Perú, based on his involvement in the Project of Camisea (operated by Shell Prospecting and Development B.V) and the outcome of various dialogues with Environmental Authorities of Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

Mr. Farfán is a Peruvian national. He holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Technology from the International Institute for Infrastructure, Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering at Delft, the Netherlands. He is currently lecturing on Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management for Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima.
