HORIZON Communications Solutions Site
A non-for-profit Film Production, Research, and International Development Organization
http://www.solutions-site.org

"It is not enough to chronicle the problems and provide random reports on successful efforts. There is crucial need for carefully researched, documented and disseminated information about solutions. People need to know what can be and is being done to protect and improve life on earth and to have the knowledge to be able to replicate, all or in part, solutions to meet their own needs." -HORIZON brochure

The interactive HORIZON Solution Site is dedicated to better conditions throughout the world by finding what can be and is being done to help protect and improve life on earth, and to make that information available for others to benefit. The site provides readily accessible peer reviewed answers to problems in environment, health, population, and development.

HORIZON which is based out of Sweden, Harvard and Yale Universities works together with the International Development Research Centre of Canada, the United Nations Development Programme, Environment Programme, Population Fund and UNICEF. To accomplish their goals HORIZON selects case studies from individuals working in the field. These case studies, which include information on the background information of the problem being addressed; how and by whom the solution was initiated; how long it has been underway; how well it is working; constraining factors such as costs, limitations of materials; applicability and feasibility for replication locally, regionally, internationally; evaluation results, if any and by whom the evaluation was conducted; photographs, graphic and other visual materials; and resource and contacts for further information. They are eventually published on the web at HORIZON'S site.

HORIZON encourages participation in the Solution Site from individual and institutions throughout the world. They are currently accepting case studies with any photos. For more detailed information on submissions or about HORIZONS in general contact:
