Professor
Andrew Spielman has been a member of the faculty at the Harvard School
of Public Health since 1959. His official title is Professor of Tropical
Public Health. He has published around 300 scientific articles, organized
various symposia and consulted with governments, NGOs and corporations
about the control of vector-borne diseases.
At HSPH,
he heads the research laboratory of Public Health Entomology (which includes
about 25 people at any given time) and directs a training program in Emerging
Infectious Diseases for doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers.
At Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, he directs the Malaria Epidemiology
Program within the Center for International Development.
