The slender Filefish often lives well camouflaged among the branches of a gorgonian (Bonaire).

 

When I came too close, it fled the gorgonian to hide among the branches of the staghorn coral, changing its colors and putting out little "frills" to blend in with its new surroundings (Bonaire).

 

A moment later it went down among the dead parts of the staghorn coral branches which are quite different in color and texture and changed its colors again (Bonaire).
