Different species of deer are living in the rain forests. Part of a complex ecosystems, they are useful for local people and for the regeneration of the forest.

 

Another species of deer standing in the rain in the Yungas region. Affected by overhunting.

 

Illegal trade is affecting many species of birds, mammals and reptiles and is becoming a major threat to the conservation of some species. The most commonly affected are macaws, parrots and monkeys. This specimen has been just extracted from its natural habitat and is on its way to the city.
