The Andean Condor is endangered within its distribution range. The species once represented the god of First Andean Nations, a symbol of power and the highest relation with nature.

 

Cloud and mountain forests in Yungas region. Cotapata National Park has become an important habitat for some endangered species as the Spectacled Bear.

 

Slash-and.burn agricultural practices to clear spaces, practiced by local colonists and campesinos, in order to prepare their land for new efforts to reduce poverty. This practice threatens the soil and the environment, due to the fact that theland loses all its nutrients after the first crops, forcing farmers to move and clear new spaces, expanding the agricultural frontier, and leaving spaces with high degradation rates. A serious problem for developing countries – trying to balance their economical needs against environmental impact.
