World Water Day March 22, 2009: Water Sharing is Crucial in the Fight Against Disease

This 2009, the Disease Control Priorities Project (DCPP) is joining the world community in observing World Water Day.


WASH Media Award Competition Call for Entries Of Reports on Water Supply, Sanitation or Hygiene

The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) are co-sponsoring the second edition of the WASH Media Award competition, to be held between July 2007 and April 2008.


European Union donates funds to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene for Zimbabwe’s rural poor.

The European Union has donated 3.7m Euro (approx US$4.7million) to a UNICEF project that will reach 500,000 Zimbabweans with improved sanitation, hygiene and water facilities. The project focuses on those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.


Innovative Effort to Make Drinking Water Safe in Indonesia

With roughly 100 million Indonesians without access to safe drinking water and 70 percent of the population relying on water from contaminated sources, an innovative strategic communication program has been designed to engage Indonesia’s commercial sector to manufacture, distribute, and market a new safe water system.
