Together we can spread knowledge of climate emergencies and of efforts to mitigate climate change with the use of the 7.4 billion smartphones and social media. We can motivate action on every level from individuals and small farmers to mega corporations as we share immediate knowledge of climate emergencies and of positive actions on an international scale.

As people are aware of endeavors underway, they will gain a sense of hope for our suffering planet and be encouraged to do what they themselves can do. Many initiatives are underway: seagrass protection, mangrove planting, using dual-purpose cow peas to see farmers and small home gardens through drought and floods, simple gestures of adding a sweater, buying less, walking, using mass transportation, poor women collecting plastics from the streets of Ouagadougu, Burkina Faso and creating sustainable houses and large scale buildings. I welcome an entity to establish and manage a speedy wiki-like climate change platform for organization of information into locations and categories fast universal sharing.

Sir David Attenborough’s “The Year the Earth Changed,” documentary demonstrated what is possible when the whole world is alerted to danger and responds. In 2020, World Health Organization called upon all the world to “Stay Home” to avoid getting Covid 19.  Within months carbon dioxide levels were down by over 5 % and air pollution was down dramatically. For example, photographs taken from 200 kilometers away revealed, for the first time in 30 years, the Himalayans. The documentary noted that within days, Los Angeles experienced its best air quality in 40 years.
