World Food Programme Helps Pastoralists in Djibouti Recover

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is gradually shifting from emergency assistance to Food for Work projects this year for thousands of nomadic herders to lessen the impact of recurrent droughts while improving the nutritional status of the most vulnerable in this country near the tip of the Horn of Africa.


UNICEF, the European Union and the Government of Djibouti Partner to Provide Access to Clean Drinking Water for Djibouti's Poor

A partnership between the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the European Union and the Government of Djibouti is paving the way for at least 25,000 of the poorest and most vulnerable rural residents of the country to gain, for the first time, access clean drinking water close to their homes.
